Course FAQ

  • What is the order of courses?

    ABHYASA courses are the base for all courses in this portal. There are currently four ABHYASA courses (Ordered list : Abhyasa - Prathama, Abhyasa- Dwitheeya, Abhyasa- Thritheeya, Abhyasa- Chaturthi). For those who have learnt all the ABHYASA courses we have Chocolate Melodies - Prathama , Varnam - Prathama and Varnam - Dwitheeya (coming soon).
    If you have no knowledge about violin you will start with Abhyasa - Prathama.
    If you are learning/have learnt Indian Violin and want to know the right course to enroll in, email us at bowingwithfm@gmail.com and we would let you know the right course to enroll in.

  • What are the prequisites for courses? Which courses have prerequisite requirements?

    All courses other than "Abhyasa - Prathama" and "Abhyasa- Dwitheeya" have prerequisite requirement. Mastering the bowing and fingering (Left hand Techniques) are a key to be able to play the Indian Violin. So to enroll in courses other than the two listed here, you will have to enroll for Prerequisite.
    Alternately you can email us at bowingwithfm@gmail.com with a video recording. Play any favorite song/lesson of your choice and send us a recording. Kumaresh Sir ( Fiddling Monk) would let you know what course you could enroll in.

  • Is it compulsory to start with Abhyasa-Prathama or can I also start with Abhyasa-Dwitheeya as I have been learning for some years already? How useful is the portal for students who have learnt for 5+ years?

    Yes! There are courses designed for people with prior knowledge of Indian Violin as well.
    If you are learning/have learnt Indian Violin and want to know the right course to enroll in, please look up All Courses here.
    Each course describes who it would be suitable for and any prerequisites as well. Please read the course descriptions, curriculum, requirements and FAQs to learn about each course before you sign up.   • Question I have is not answered. Any contact info?

Payment FAQ

  • What are the two course prices listed? Why?

    We have two options or rates to purchase the courses.
    Option 1: One Time Payment plan - This opens all the lessons immediately.
    Option 2: Monthly Payment plan - In this option the course lessons open up corresponding to the monthly payment. These options are just to give flexibility of payment options to the student. The material and guidance received are the same in both plans.

  • Is the course price all inclusive or would there be other taxes and fees?

    The course price is inclusive of GST (India). It is inclusive of all taxes and fees, except those specific to credit card provider
    If paying by a INR Credit card then there are no other charges billed by us.
    If paying by a foreign currency credit card, then it depends on your particular credit card company fees and charges for foreign transaction fees if applicable, that might also apply.

  • How does the Monthly Payment Plan work?

    This is an instalment option plan.
    In this option the course lessons open up corresponding to the monthly payment.
    Month is calculated as 30 days from when you enrol in that course.
    So if there are 9 chapters in a course and course payment has a 3 month plan pay option then for example first month 3 chapters would be available , 2nd month your credit card would get charged/you will get a reminder about monthly access expiry, and next 3 chapters ( so totally 6) and last month post payment, the remaining 3 chapters (.i.e all 9 Chapters) would be available.
    Post completion of monthly payments ( 3 in this example) all the lessons would be available for your unrestricted access.

  • What happens if my card expires or my payment fails? Will I lose access to my courses?

    Our payment processing platform is Stripe and they are failsafe. Still if you face any payment issues, kindly reach out to us. In your email subject, mention "Payment Issues:" , so we can quickly help you. Give us minimum 24 hour to help resolve the same.
    Also as a good practice make sure to update your credit card info if it is about to expire, especially while enrolled in monthly payment plan.
    If your account is overdue then your account would be autocancelled and you will lose access. If this happens, email us at bowingwithfm@gmail.com to make the payment and help restore your access.

  • My payment was successful,but I do not have access to courses. Why? Who should I contact?

    This would be a very rare occurence. But if for some reason our payment processor cannot confirm payment, the enrolment into course may not happen immediately. In case of any issues please email us at bowingwithfm@gmail.com. In your email subject, mention "Access Issues:" , so we can quickly help you. We will resolve it within 2 working days. You can also reach us on WhatsApp at +91-8095687401.

  • What is the One time payment plan?

    This is will be a single purchase of the complete course for the price listed. In this option all the lessons in the course are immediately available post successful payment for your unrestricted access.

  • Are cancellations allowed? What refund do I get?

    Thank you for asking us this question! Detailed information about course/program module is available. The material that would be covered, the prerequisites for a course, the average effort and time required is also listed. So you should be able to make an informed choice.     Once you purchase/buy a course , we will not be in a position to refund the same. Thank you for your understanding.
